What It Is
GREENGUARD certification on window coverings is a third-party environmental and health safety standard. It means the product has been tested for chemical emissions, particularly volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which can negatively affect indoor air quality. GREENGUARD is administered by UL Environment as a certification program for building materials, furniture, finishes, and consumer products — for window coverings, it confirms that fabrics, coatings, adhesives, and finishes release very low levels of VOCs.
