How to Measure — Inside Mount

Measure the width of the window opening at the top, middle, and bottom, and use the narrowest of the three — window openings are rarely perfectly square. Measure the height at the left, center, and right, and use the longest of the three. Check the depth of your window frame against the product's mounting depth to confirm an inside mount will actually fit before you order.

How to Measure

Inside Mount

Measure the width of the window opening at the top, middle, and bottom, and use the narrowest of the three — window openings are rarely perfectly square. Measure the height at the left, center, and right, and use the longest of the three. Check the depth of your window frame against the product's mounting depth to confirm an inside mount will actually fit before you order.

Outside Mount

Measure the width and height of the area you want to cover, not just the window opening itself. For the best glare and UV coverage, most homeowners extend the shade 2–3" beyond the frame on each side and 2–4" above the top of the frame.

Installation & Programming Instructions

Most Dream Shades mount with the brackets and hardware included in the box, using nothing more than a screwdriver or drill — typically under 15 minutes per window. A printed, step-by-step instruction sheet ships with every order, matched to your exact product and mount type.

MaxxMotor and Somfy motors ship pre-paired to their included remote. To add app or voice control, connect the MaxxLink Wi-Fi hub (or use Built-In Bluetooth on supported motors) and follow the in-app pairing steps — you'll set your shade's open and closed travel limits once during setup, and it remembers them from then on.

Maintenance, Care & Cleaning

Dream Shades can be easily maintained with regular light dusting using a feather duster, soft cloth, or dusting mitt. For deeper cleaning, vacuum gently with a brush-type attachment — avoid high-suction or hard-bristle attachments, which can damage the sheer fabric.

Where suitable, use a clean, soft white cloth or sponge moistened with lukewarm water, adding a mild, non-abrasive detergent if necessary, and blot gently — don't rub — to avoid creasing the fabric. Dry conditions can cause static; if this happens, lightly apply an anti-static spray and let the shade dry completely in the fully closed position.
